8 Days From Marrakech to Desert Merzouga
Day 1 : Marrakech
Upon your arrival at the airport of Marrakesh, our professional driver will pick you up, and transfer you towards the hotel/riad you will be staying at.
Day 2 : Explore Marrakech
In Marrakech we offer you a day dedicated for exploring this wonderful, historical city. Since the red city is an interesting home for mosques, palaces and gardens; we will start our tour by visiting the majestic mosque of El Koutoubia, the largest mosque in Marrakech, It is also known by the name mosque of booksellers. Next we will visit the charming Bahia Qsar, it is a Palace and a set of gardens. Was built in the late 19th century, and it is intended to be the greatest palace of its time. Thereupon we will move towards the artistc and, most visited place in Marrakech, the Majorelle gardens. A well designed villa with a two and ald acre botonical garden, created by the greatest Jacque Majorelle between the 1923s and 1930s. After a quiet stay we will explore the Sidi Said museum of Jewellery.Lunch will be in a restaurant at the ancent medina, where you will savor a Marrakchi special dish called “Tanjiya” before continuing our tour. Subsequently, conclude the day in front of the charming Plaza of Jamaa Lefna, enjoying the unique ambiance of the place while relaxing in a cafe.
Day 3 : Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dadès valley
Breakfast at the hotel, and we will resume our journey by driving through the long series of Atlas Mountains and Tizi n Tichka mountain pass which is 2260 m high. Along the road you will notice the change in sceneries from tall standing mountains to sand castles. You will stop at Ouarzazat-the Hollywood of Africa-to have lunch and pay a visit to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the Marrakech Pasha Glaoui’s kasbah. Late afternoon you will have a cup of tea with the town’s people. Later on we will continue our trip to arrive to Dades valley in which we will stay at for the night.
Day 4: Dadès Valley – Merzouga
After having breakfast in the valley and walking in its gorge we will head to Merzouga. We will drive through several berber villages and cities like Tinjdad, Erfoud and Jorf. We will stop at the Oasis of Tafilalt to rejuvenate and then continue till we reach Merzouga. We will rest in the hotel for quite a time and then ride camels as soon as the sun starts to set so that you can enjoy the scenery on the back of the camel. It will take us 2hours till we arrive to the nomad camp in which we will stay at. We will have a traditional and a dainty dinner with Berber music played in the backgroun
Day 5 : Merzouga – Zagora
Make sure not to miss the formidable scenery of sun rising from the high dunes of sand. After enjoying such a glorious moment we will return to the hotel to freshen up and have breakfast. Later on we will continue our journey to Zagora, crossing the fantasctic village of Alnif where you will enjoy a berber dish for lunch, and discover the area for a moment before continuing. At Zagora you will spend the night a hotel, with dinner and breakfast included.
Day 6 : Zagora – Ouarzazate
we will continue our journey to Ouarzazat, on the way we will encounter many villages nearby Agdez and Draa valley. Also you are going to head out to explore the famous Kasbah of Ait-Ben-Hadou, a world Heritage site, and one of the mot amazing monuments that exists in Morocco, laying magestically in the middle of the desert with its unique southern architecture. Also this place was a part of many universal movies and tv shows, such as “Alexander”, “queen of the desert”, “Game of Thrones” etc. In the evening we will be found in Ouarzazat to have supper and stay the night at.
Day 7 : Ouarzazate – Marrakech
In the morning we will have breakfast before we head towards north. On the road we we will drive once again through Tizi n tichka mountain pass.While driving back you will see shepherds herding their beasts. At night we will be found in Marrakech.
Day 8 : Transfer to the airport
After breakfast, our driver will transfer you to the airport of Minara based on your flight schedule, where unfortunately we will wish you on the behalf of our staff a safe voyage and thank you for taking this memorable adventure with our company.
